Keeping Up With Fundies: Massive End of 2019 TP

The last transparency post was during the summer, so these asks range generally from Late August 2019 to December 2019 (although a few may have been hanging around in drafts longer than that!). I tried to divide them into categories which made sense! Unless otherwise indicated, these asks were answered by T!

Just Oldies

Just an oldie- this was shortly before we had the official courtship confirmation for Trace & Chaney.

This is just an oldie-sometimes people let us know news after we post it!

This was sent in around Thanksgiving, and did not come to fruition, but was a fair guess!

It will be interesting to see what happens, but we hope his candidacy is not successful.

From the first week of November. Def not confused, but is is a bit fun how it all worked out this year.

The Rodrigues family does leave a lot to be concerned about. Hopefully marriage will present a lot of new opportunities for Nurie.

Another oldie- I don't reddit, but I saw them floating around tumblr. That was was interesting and seemed more legit than some other AMAs floating around.

I believe Steve & Terri are the plant based Maxwells due to Steve's heart issues earlier, although this means there are more plant based options for all at family gatherings. It is interesting to me that they made this change!

It was definitely Teresa, which is SCARY. Very lucky for healthy mom/baby in this situation!

I couldn't make it through this, but I tend to give people a lot of space to grieve as long as they aren't hurting anyone else. Wishing the Balkas the best.

I am so sorry for your loss. This person was critiquing the response of some people NOT on tumblr's response to Lauren's miscarriage. While I understand their concern, it is probably best to reach out to those people rather than a blog on a different platform entirely.

T is the law student admin (don't worry, just me!) and answering questions like this make me nervous because I am not qualified to give legal advice and I also don't know much about IP but my instinct is it's just different enough to squeak by. But that is just an instinct.

I don't think you mean anything by this, but I don't think it is particularly interesting or necessary to talk about how pregnant women carry on the Internet.

The Plath's loss of their son is sad. While there is a lot to discuss with that family, that is one subject I prefer to give them space on.

Jinger lost a sponsorship from LA-area donut company Fonuts on December 4, 2019. We posted a few asks about the controversy, but didn't get to a few and now the moment has passed. Here are those asks.

Well, we all have our style preferences. I do dig that she was able to make a big change in her appearance, but I don't love that accompanied her attempts to become more of a fundie influencer.

I don't think you meant anything bad by this ask, but you used a word which is not acceptable for me to post and it just doesn't come across good.

I would love to see a queer breakout of people giving commentary. We have community members who are LGBTQ+ and active, but there’s no doubt that most of the discourse is hetero-normative. We need more representation on here, but I also don’t want it to be fueled by apathy. That would really disappointing.

Of course it’s annoying when people say we should respect bigoted opinions, it’s the Internet, it’s full of annoying people. From where I’ve been sitting though, that hasn’t been the norm. And yes people have shown sympathy for Joy’s loss. She was an abused child herself and is now experiencing deep grief. You can hold adults accountable for their actions and still maintain empathy. They should be called out for toxic behaviors, which they are responsible for even if they were raised in an abusive environment. But do you stop caring about the child who experienced abuse because they have grown?

Hell no. You wish better for them so that they can be well enough to find peace after their childhoods and do right by their own children, because we care about those kids. That’s why the community is quick to critique these families when they fall short of healthy parenting, and why we have a heart when it comes to the adult children.
